Lazio ultras have announced that they will boycott all home matches in Serie A and the Coppa Italia next season as part of an escalating protest against club president Claudio Lotito. The groups occupying the famous Curva Nord confirmed that they will not purchase season tickets, describing the decision as a response to years of frustration over the direction of the club. According to the statement released by the ultras, their dissatisfaction stems from what they see as a lack of ambition from the current ownership, ineffective investment in the squad during transfer windows and continually rising ticket prices that are pushing ordinary supporters away from the stadium. By leaving the Curva Nord empty during domestic fixtures, the Biancocelesti supporters hope to place significant financial pressure on the club and force Lotito to consider selling Lazio.
The boycott, however, will not extend to the Derby della Capitale against Roma. The ultras confirmed that they will continue to attend both home and away editions of the fierce rivalry. "We will be present at the derby, both home and away. We believed we were facing a fanbase with at least a minimum level of mentality, but instead they chose to display banners and chant against an empty curva, showing everyone exactly who they really are, simply Romanisti." The statement referred to the most recent Rome derby, during which Roma supporters directed chants and banners towards an empty Curva Nord. Lazio's organised supporters also revealed plans to broaden the protest beyond the stadium. They intend to cancel subscriptions to all paid broadcasting platforms that show Lazio matches in an effort to draw even greater attention to what they describe as the club's alarming situation.
"We will collectively cancel our subscriptions and refuse to renew them on every platform that broadcasts Lazio matches for a fee. We want to highlight, both economically and visually, the extremely difficult situation in which our beloved Lazio currently finds itself." In addition, the ultras announced that they would gather in bars, restaurants and pubs run by fellow Lazio supporters to watch home matches together during the boycott. The protest will also target companies associated with the current ownership. "We will boycott every organisation and company that supports this leadership, whether they are sponsors or commercial partners."
The decision marks one of the strongest demonstrations of opposition towards Claudio Lotito in recent years. For decades, Curva Nord has been regarded as the beating heart of Lazio support, creating some of the most iconic atmospheres in Italian football. An empty Curva Nord would not only represent a financial blow to the club but would also dramatically alter the matchday experience at the Stadio Olimpico. The coming months will reveal whether the boycott achieves its intended impact. What is already clear is that the relationship between Lazio's leadership and its most passionate supporters has reached a critical point, with the future of the club becoming an increasingly divisive issue among the Biancocelesti faithful.
